The brand name "Maresia" draws its inspiration from the Portuguese word for "sea breeze." It encapsulates the refreshing and invigorating essence of the ocean, which serves as a constant muse for our designs. Just as a sea breeze carries a sense of timeless, freedom and serenity, Maresia Designs aims to evoke those same feelings through our luxurious swimwear and fashion pieces.
THE DESIGNER
I had always been deeply passionate about fashion. Despite difficult times in my personal and professional life, at the age of 31 I decided to pursue my dreams and enrolled in fashion design school.
Instead of letting difficulties bring me down, I channeled my emotions into work, using fashion as a creative outlet to heal and empower myself.
Growing up on the beautiful island of Corfu with the Italian influences, observing the boundless azure sea, sensing the gentle warmth of the sun on my skin, strolling barefoot on the velvety sand, and submerging into the translucent blue waters have always brought me immense joy. These memories take me back to the beach, to moments spent with my grandfather, and enjoying ice cream every afternoon. The feeling of being close to the sea and nature has always been a part of me, and it is this passion that has inspired me to create a brand that captures the essence of luxury and sophistication while embracing ethical and sustainable practices.
